Pondicherry's craft beer scene is small and Catamaran is one of its better entries: ales, lagers, pilsners brewed in-house, with food and occasional live music.
Craft brewing came to Pondicherry relatively recently, and Catamaran is one of the places that made it stick. The brewery produces ales, lagers, and pilsners on-site, and the range is wider than you would expect for a city this size.
The food menu supports a proper session rather than just drinks: burgers, bar snacks, and larger plates. Live music and bar games appear on some evenings.
For visitors arriving from a long journey or wanting an evening that does not involve wine or cocktails, Catamaran fills the gap well.
