Villa Shanti is the sister property to La Villa and shares its commitment to seasonal, locally sourced ingredients and a kitchen that knows when to let good produce speak for itself. The patio dining is a particular draw: an outdoor space that is shaded, quiet, and one of the more pleasant places to eat in the White Town.

The menu spans refined Indian, Indo-French, and European preparations. The prawn and pomelo salad is a standout: bright, balanced, and not a combination you find elsewhere in the city. The chicken two-way with cauliflower is a carefully constructed main course. The French crème brûlée is correctly made and worth finishing with.

The service is attentive and the wine list serious. Together with La Villa, this is one of the two best fine-dining options in Pondicherry.
